Teen skateboarder dies in Fairhope

A 19-year-old male died early this morning after crashing on his skateboard near the Fairhope Municipal Pier, according to city police. Police said that at about 10 p.m.Monday, the youth -- whose name was not released as of this afternoon -- fell off his skateboard and smashed his head on the pavement near the bottom of a steep hill on Fairhope Avenue that leads to the city's pier.
