Interview with NJSkateshop rider, Chris Davis.

What is your name?
Chris Davis

How old are you?
I am twenty two years old.

Where are you from?
Trenton, New Jersey.

Who are your current sponsors?
HiJinx Skateboards... NJ Skateshop.... Disciple Clothing.

How long have you been skateboarding?
About ten years.

Tell us how you got into skateboarding?
My older brother used to skate way back in the day... I used to watch him in amazement.... In 7th grade some friends decided to start skating... still had that love for it so i started to skate again. Haven't stopped since....

What was your first skateboard?
Alien Workshop soldier board... Venture trucks... 37.5 mm bo turner wheels... ccs catalog ha.

How often do you skateboard?
I try to get out everyday if I can... The winters in Jersey are super cold.... so it can get tough sometimes.

Why do you love skateboarding?
I have so many reasons why I love skateboarding.... but I'll just mention manuals... love doing those.

What are some of your favorite spots in the tri-state area?
Trenton... theres a spot that has ledges everywhere and huge drop off ledges... we call it ED. That's my favorite spot..... I also like hitting up random spots in Philly... and the great valley 8 rails... only been there twice, but you always walk away with something.

What was the last trick you learned?
Heelflip nosemanual 360 shove it out.

Who was the last person you skated with?

Dean Innocenzi, Greg Michaud, Justin Warias and Jaunt.

Which skateboarders are you impressed by?
The Trenton Survivors, Chris Luhring, Ricky Oyola, Brian Wenning, Corey Sheppard, Grant Patterson, Mike Mo, and of course Chris Cole.... anyone thats doing there thing.

Have you had any serious injuries due to skateboarding? If so, how did you overcome it?
I landed edge biter off a handrail once and went straight down to my face.... it smacked the ground and I blacked out for a second... woke up and everything was yellow... had to head to the ER.... My eye was swollen shut for a week or so... eventually it healed.

What do you have to say about karma?
What goes around comes around.... I always here about people hating on other people.... just skate and have fun.... do your own thing. Keep the karma good.

Do you have any personal experiences you'd like to share with us?
I went to Hawaii last summer... that was a dope experience.

Have you ever seen the movie "Kids"?
Yea... RIP Harold Hunter.

Right now there's a big controversy with whether or not skateboarding should be in the OIympics. Are you for it? Why?
To be honest I could care less.... doesn't really matter to me.

What are your plans for the future?
Keep skating and traveling around... I'm gonna head back to Hawaii and see two homeys I got there.

Do you have any advice for the skateboarders reading this?

Be original...
